Khalilur Rahman, the National Security Advisor (NSA) of Bangladesh, met his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval in New Delhi today and invited him to Dhaka amid the strained ties over the pending request for Sheikh Hasina's extradition. The two leaders met at the 7th Meeting of the NSAs of the Colombo Security Conclave.
Ties between India and Bangladesh began to shake after former Prime Minister Hasina fled to New Delhi after her ouster during violent students' protest in her own country. Later, Bangladesh wrote to India, demanding her extradition but the request is still pending. Hasina, who came for a brief stay, has been in a self-imposed exile for over a year now.
