CLARE – The entire Fowler volleyball program felt it got over a big obstacle when it ousted Mount Pleasant Sacred Heart in the regional finals last week.
The Irish had previously beaten the Eagles earlier in the season and knocked Fowler out of the state tournament in the regional round two seasons ago.
The Eagles carried that momentum from getting past their nemesis into the Division 4 state quarterfinals against Traverse City Christian on Tuesday, Nov. 18. And after a strong first two sets got Fowler out to a commanding lead, the senior-laden Eagles squad came through in tight moments to secure the sweep and advance to the Kellogg Center with a state semifinal berth.
