Bengaluru : The IT capital of India witnessed one of its biggest daylight robberies on Tuesday when a gang of six to seven men intercepted a cash-loading vehicle and escaped with Rs 7.11 crore. The dramatic heist unfolded near Jayadeva Dairy Circle around noon, when the van was en route to refill an ATM near South End Circle.
The gang, travelling in an Innova, stopped the vehicle and posed as Reserve Bank of India officials, claiming the staff had violated rules. They forced the gunman and other employees out, but took the driver along. The robbers then drove the van to the Dairy Circle flyover, transferred the cash into their own vehicle, and fled the scene within minutes.
