House prices in the Forest of Dean increased in September, new figures show.
Figures from the Office for National Statistics show the average the Forest of Dean house price in the year to September was £301,958 – a 1.4% increase on August.
The picture was different to that across the South West, where prices decreased by 0.9%.
The rise in the Forest of Dean contributes to the longer-term trend in the area, which has seen property prices in the area grow by 4.4% over the last year.
It means the area ranked fifth among the South West’s 26 local authorities for annual growth, with the average price in the Forest of Dean rising by £13,000 over the past year.
The highest annual growth in the South West was in Stroud, where property prices increased on average by 5.8%.
