A group of local churches organized a free event Sunday night dubbed “Hope for America” at Utah Tech University’s M. Anthony Burns Arena, featuring a livestream of a Utah Valley University tribute to the life and work of political activist Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated at the university in September.

But this was not an evening of political discourse. In fact, there was very little or no political discussion by public speakers at the event, which was described by social media advertisements as a message to those seeking peace and hope.
