POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. (KFVS) - Poplar Bluff has a new police chief.

The city announced on its Facebook page that J.R. Keirsey is the city’s new police chief.

The city said Keirsey is a 27-year veteran of the Poplar Bluff Police Department.

Keirsey takes over from former chief Danny Whiteley, who recently announced his retirement.
