FAIRVIEW, W.Va. — Three miners were injured Wednesday at the Loveridge Coal Mine in Fairview when two pieces of machinery collided, according to Marion County Homeland Security & Emergency Management Director Chris McIntire.
The incident was reported around 9:42 a.m., McIntire said.
"At this time the miners are still underground," he said in a phone interview with WV News . "They're being packaged to be transported to the hospital."
The extent of the miners' injuries were not immediately known, McIntire said.
