Just over a month after he was fired by Penn State, James Franklin will be introduced as the next football coach at Virginia Tech.

On Wednesday, Franklin will meet the media for the first time as the Hokies coach. Franklin arrived in Blacksburg earlier Wednesday morning, where he was greeted by fans at the airport.

Franklin spent more than 11 seasons at Penn State before he was fired in October , following three straight losses. During that time, he put together a 104-45 record and won the 2016 Big Ten championship. Last season, the Nittany Lions reached the College Football Playoff semifinals.

Penn State was originally on the hook for a $48 million buyout following the firing. However, the university recently negotiated a settlement to give Franklin roughly $9 million as part of
