New Delhi, Nov 19: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) on Wednesday highlighted that the upcoming Aadhaar App’s offline verification feature will provide a secure, convenient and privacy-preserving method of identity verification—reducing the need to share physical or photocopied Aadhaar documents, which often leads to misuse or fraud.
Speaking at a webinar titled “Offline Verification using the Aadhaar App”, UIDAI CEO Bhuvnesh Kumar said the objective is to encourage widespread adoption of offline verification, build a strong ecosystem around it, and increase awareness about the new App’s capabilities ahead of its formal launch. Over 250 representatives from various sectors participated in the session.
