BEREA, Ohio — Rookie QB Shedeur Sanders will make his first NFL start for the Cleveland Browns this Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Head coach Kevin Stefanski announced the decision Wednesday during his press conference, noting that starter Dillon Gabriel remains in concussion protocol.
The Browns (2-8) are on the road this weekend, facing the Raiders (2-8) at Allegiant Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:05 p.m.
Sanders, selected in the fifth round of this past April's NFL draft, was pressed into action Sunday after Gabriel suffered a possible concussion.
The 23-year-old former All-American struggled mightily, completing just 4 of 16 passes for 47 yards and an interception as the Browns coughed up a halftime lead in a to the Ravens.
