A Coventry Costa Coffee has closed for good. Based at Cross Point Business Park, the Walsgrave site ceased trading yesterday (November 18).
Staff are understood to have lost their jobs. Bosses have not yet revealed why the Gielgud Way branch closed.
Customers have instead been directed to Costa at Gallagher Retail Park , which is a 15-minute drive away from Gielgud Way. Other locations include Upper Precinct and Arena Shopping Park .
Founded in 1971 by Italian brothers Sergio and Bruno, Costa Coffee has more than 2,800 branches in the UK and Ireland. However, it has struggled in recent years due to rising costs and increased competition from rivals like Starbucks, Greggs, and Caffè Nero.
