INDIANAPOLIS —
More than 300 Indiana National Guard soldiers are headed to Washington, D.C. at the request of the D.C. National Guard.
Indiana Gov. Mike Braun, who authorized the request, said the soldiers are "well-trained and fully prepared for this mission." Advertisement
The soldiers will be deployed to "help increase safety in the nation's capital."
Most of the National Guard members come from units based in Bloomington and Gary, which are home to field artillery and engineer battalions.
