CHARLOTTE — In classic Bryce Young fashion, even when it's about him, he'd prefer it's not about him.

The Panthers quarterback was named NFC offensive player of the week after his 448-yard outburst in the overtime win against the Falcons, which broke Cam Newton's single-game franchise record, among other superlatives.

And with that award, he becomes the fifth Panthers player to win the weekly award this season, the first team in the league to do so. He was preceded in the weekly honors by Rico Dowdle (Week 5), Ryan Fitzgerald (Week 6), Sam Martin (Week 7), and Tre'von Moehrig (Week 9).

The Panthers haven't had five different players of the week in a season since 2017, when the names were Newton, Julius Peppers, Luke Kuechly, Jonathan Stewart, and Damiere Byrd.
