YORK COUNTY, Va. — According to an email from York County Schools, Dare Elementary School was placed on lockdown around 11:23 a.m. Wednesday after a possible weapon was reported on school grounds. Law enforcement determined that the report was unfounded and the lockdown was lifted around 12:10 p.m.

This is the York County School Division with another update for Dare Elementary School families. The York-Poquoson Sheriff's Office has completed their steps to lift the lockdown status at Dare Elementary School. The school is resuming normal operations.
