The Justice Department announced major new charges against Ryan James Wedding — a former Canadian Olympian now accused of leading one of the world’s most violent drug trafficking organizations. Officials say Wedding works with the Sinaloa Cartel to move 60 metric tons of cocaine a year into the U.S. and Canada, controls a billion-dollar criminal enterprise, and even used a Canadian website to help locate and murder a federal witness. More than 35 people have been indicted, millions in crypto and assets seized, and the State Department has raised the reward for Wedding’s capture to $15 million.
