ASHBURN, Va. — An Ashburn volunteer fire chief was arrested for embezzling station funds Wednesday morning.

William Graham II, 66, serves as the chief of the Ashburn Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department. But Wednesday, Loudoun County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested him for allegedly stealing $2,000 from the station.

Graham himself had reported $2,000 in fraudulent charges on his department-issued credit card to the sheriff's office. That's when detectives were alerted that it was possibly embezzlement.

He is charged with embezzlement by a public officer. He was brought to Loudoun County Adult Detention Center, but has since been released on an unsecured bond.
