Penix was injured in the Falcons' Week 11 loss to the Carolina Panthers last Sunday. Veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins took over for the rest of the game, and he'll start for Atlanta moving forward -- beginning in Week 12 against the New Orleans Saints.
Despite being just 25 years old, Penix has already suffered through a long list of injuries dating back to college. He suffered a torn right ACL in 2018, a clavicle fracture in 2019, a re-torn right ACL in 2020, a shoulder AC joint sprain in 2021 and a left knee bone bruise earlier this season.
