The Lady Hornets basketball squad was in action against Southwest Baptist for a mid-week matchup. After a disappointing start to the year at the D2 Central Region Showcase, the Lady Hornets came back and rolled through Southwest Baptist, winning their first game of the year 84-61.
While in Bolivar, Mo., the Lady Hornets began the game slowly as the Bearcats scored the first five points of the match. Graduate student Kaitlyn Sanders started the offense with five points of her own, making it a 7-5 game early. The teams traded baskets throughout the rest of the first quarter as the Bearcats had the lead 17-13.
