ALMONT — To keep its dream of a first-ever MHSAA state championship alive, the Almont High School football team must overcome the sport's most decorated program.
The Raiders (12-0) will face Jackson Lumen Christi (9-3) in a Division 6 state semifinal on Saturday, Nov. 22. Kickoff is 1 p.m. at Novi High School.
In addition to being the reigning state champion in Division 6, Lumen Christi has won 18 consecutive postseason games — a streak that includes a pair of Division 7 titles (2022, 2023). The Titans' last playoff loss was Nov. 20, 2021.
"(Lumen Christi) is good in every spot," Almont coach James Leusby said. "They're still as powerful as ever on offense. On defense, they fly around and make plays."
This season, the Titans are averaging 31.3 points per game and allowing just 12.7. In
