NEWBURYPORT — Residents interested in the future of the Peter J. Matthews Boardwalk along the waterfront will want to attend tonight’s public meeting in City Hall Auditorium at 7 to learn about its potential rehabilitation while also having a chance to express their own thoughts.
Originally built in the late 1970s, the boardwalk was redecked and extended in 2002, and while it appears to be in good shape structurally, portions of the decking have not held up as well as expected.
