BARNSTABLE, Mass. —

Two people were aboard a small plane that skidded to a halt on a Cape Cod runway without landing gear on Wednesday morning.

According to the FAA, the Piper PA-24 landed while its gear was up at Cape Cod Gateway Airport in Hyannis at 10 a.m.

Video shows a crane being used to hoist the plane onto a tow truck.

FAA records indicate the plane is registered to an owner in Dennis, Massachusetts, but may have been recently sold.

The most recent data available for the plane on FlightAware shows the plane flew south from Cape Cod toward Nantucket, but turned back.
