THE VILLAGES, Fla. – A man has been sentenced to life in prison after being found guilty of robbing two people at gunpoint in The Villages, tying them up, and stealing their car, according to State Attorney William M. Gladson.
Robert Leroy Connor II, 57, was convicted in September of armed robbery, grand theft of a motor vehicle, and two counts of false imprisonment while armed, Gladson’s office said in a news release.
The robbery occurred June 12, 2023, when Connor rang the doorbell and asked for water that morning, the release states. After gaining entry to the home, Connor asked to use one of the victims’ phones to make a call, yet he didn’t use it and he didn’t give it back, according to the release.
