LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - The Louisville Sports Commission has announced that it will pause its annual IRONMAN 70.3 Triathalon due to extensive road work across the city and county.

The Commission made the announcement on its social media channels.

“After thoughtful consideration, we’ve made the difficult decision to pause IRONMAN 70.3 Louisville starting with the 2026 event year. The Kentucky Department of Transportation will begin extensive road and highway improvement projects across Jefferson County, directly impacting the course. Our hope is to return in the future when conditions allow.
