FORT WORTH, Texas — Since the Texas Education Agency announced its intentions to appoint a board of managers over Fort Worth ISD , there has been a call for applications.
In an update with WFAA, the TEA shares that it has received more than 180 completed applications and there are an additional 800 applications currently in progress. Of those that are complete, 140 of the 180 reside in Fort Worth ISD boundaries.
The TEA, in order to accommodate the demonstrated level of interest, is extending the application deadline for the FWISD board of managers from Nov. 21 to Dec. 1.
All applicants will have two options to attend the mandatory Lone Star Governance training from December 6-7 or January 10-11.
