A turkey has gone viral after some fowl play involving a dog.

An Oxford, Ohio, animal hospital says the turkey tried to protect ducks and chickens from a dog and was bitten badly in the process.

With 3.5 million views and counting, people around the country are fascinated by Thomas the turkey.

“And the vet was all excited, she's like, 'You're viral on TikTok!' I'm like, 'No, I didn't know that,'” Cara Zellers said. “He's just a very attentive, compassionate bird.”

Thomas survived a dog attack last week. This turkey was no chicken. A giant bite was taken out of him while protecting his duck and chicken friends.

“Stepped into hero mode. It was fight or flight, and they stepped up to the task,” Dr. Chantel Raghu, veterinarian and co-owner of Oxford Veterinary Hospital, said.
