A popular barbecue restaurant in Dauphin County has closed, effective immediately.
ShakeDown BBQ at 1708 Fairmont Drive in Lower Paxton Township announced the news Wednesday on Facebook.
“We have made the decision to close Shakedown effective immediately. Thank you for your loyal support over all of the years, we are forever grateful. We are so thankful for the friends we’ve made over the years, and hope we have provided a little happiness in your lives as you have to ours,” they said.
When reached by PennLive, owner Chris Heilig, who operates Shakedown with his wife, Sarah Heilig, said the business model was no longer sustainable.
“We tried to keep it rolling as long as possible. In the simplest terms, we had to make the decision based on our personal well-being,” he said.
