Niagara Falls residents are invited to provide feedback to help shape the direction and priorities of a strategic initiative aimed at strengthening the city’s support for unhoused and vulnerable residents.

A more co-ordinated and proactive response to challenges related to homelessness, hunger, public drug use, illegal activity and disruptive behaviour in public spaces was called for by city councillors during their Oct. 7 meeting.

While current efforts focus largely on maintenance, cleanup, public safety and other reactive measures, a new action plan is intended to review current actions and align them within a more comprehensive, mission-driven framework, said officials.
