DEL MAR — For the second time during this fall meeting, a forecast of rain has forced cancellation of horse racing at Del Mar.
Friday’s scheduled eight-race card has been canceled with forecasts calling for up to an inch of rain Thursday night and Friday morning along the coast. The decision was made under guidelines established by the California Horse Racing Board.
Friday’s races have been moved to Monday, which had been a day off for the seaside oval. Entries for the races moving from Friday to Monday will be redrawn.
Additionally, Saturday’s races scheduled for the turf will be moved to the main track. Turf racing will resume on Sunday and Monday. Meanwhile, the forecast for the Nov. 28-30 Turf Festival that closes out the fall meeting calls for clear skies.
