OLD TOWN, Fla. (WCJB) -Dixie County authorities have been working on this case for more than three years, and the trial of Waymore Gerhardt has been delayed once again.

Gerhardt is accused of killing 14-year-old Demiah Appling, who lived in Old Town in 2022. He is charged with first-degree murder after Appling’s body was found buried in Gilchrist County in December 2022.

Pretrial hearings have been held every few months. Even now, attorneys say there are still questions surrounding the DNA evidence.
