A pet dog was left "remarkably unscathed" after plunging 100ft down a rocky cliff face.

The two-year-old Collie, named Whisp, fell in the Northmavine peninsula of Shetland on Nov. 13.

Whisp had landed on a rocky ledge on the cliff face, with his owner unable to reach him safely.

At around 11:10 a.m, the Coastguard began their rescue mission - but the steep cliff face made it impossible to reach Whisp from the sea.

The team spent three hours using rope equipment to bring the pup to the top of the cliffs safely - and by 2pm, Whisp was reunited with his owner, "remarkably unscathed."
