The first look at Peacock’s “ Ponies ” has been released. The 8-episode series will premiere on Jan. 15.

Taking place in Moscow in 1977, “Ponies” follows two women who work anonymously as secretaries in the American Embassy until their husbands are mysteriously killed in the USSR. As Bea ( Emilia Clarke ) and Twila (Haley Lu Richardson) begin to work together to solve the mystery that killed their husbands, the two uncover a Cold War conspiracy as they become CIA operatives.

Additional cast members include Adrian Lester, Artjom Gilz, Nicholas Podany, Petro Ninovskyi and Vic Michaelis.
