A man was shot and killed in Philadelphia’s Hunting Park neighborhood in the early morning hours on Monday, Nov. 17, police announced on Wednesday, Nov. 19.

Officers were called to the area of 1100 W. Venango Street at 1:40 a.m., where they found an unresponsive man lying between two parked vehicles on the 3500 block of North Warnock Street, according to the Philadelphia Police Department.

The victim was identified as 23-year-old Quamar Adams of Norristown. He had been shot multiple times in the back and was taken to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:05 a.m., police said.

Detectives later identified the shooter as 40-year-old Dwayne Robinson of the 6200 block of Langdon Street. Robinson is accused of firing at Adams from a second-floor window, investigators detailed in the release. He has been charged with Murder, Violations of the Uniform Firearms Act, and related offenses.

Robinson’s Criminal History

Robinson has an extensive criminal history in Philadelphia stemming back nearly two decades, according to court records. He was convicted in 2009 of Aggravated Assault and Simple Assault in two separate cases and received 11½ to 23 months of confinement. In 2011, he pleaded guilty to IDSI Forcible Compulsion, Criminal Conspiracy, and Sexual Assault, resulting in a five- to ten-year state prison sentence. His earlier record includes drug convictions and multiple held-for-court assault and restraint charges.

Adams’ Criminal History

Adams had a prior criminal history in Montgomery County. He was arrested in 2021 for an armed robbery in Abington after two pedestrians were held at gunpoint and assaulted on Rockwell Road on July 11, 2021, according to a press release issued on Aug. 4, 2021. He and another suspect were charged with robbery, aggravated assault, and unlawfully possessing firearms and were held on $100,000 cash bail. Court records show Adams later pleaded guilty to multiple felony robbery and firearms charges across several cases in 2022, receiving state confinement and probation sentences.
