Households who meet specific criteria will receive a £10 bonus from the Department for Work and Pensions this winter, just in time for the Christmas season.

This payment is intended to help those on certain benefits with additional Christmas expenses.

But, the amount has remained unchanged since the 1970s and due to inflation, its value has decreased by the equivalent of over £100.
