Dozens more free breakfast clubs are set to open across Birmingham amid fears children are going hungry and are unable to concentrate in class.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer unveiled the plan to roll out more government-funded clubs in primary schools in the most impoverished areas, telling BirminghamLive that ending child poverty was a 'personal mission'.

Another 127 schools in the city will qualify for the free breakfast club offer under the extended scheme, but they have to apply.
