19-Year-Old Killed In Fiery Garden State Parkway Crash In Old Bridge: NJSP

A 19-year-old Lakewood resident was killed in a crash on the Garden State Parkway in Old Bridge on Wednesday, Nov. 19, authorities said.

At 4:28 a.m., officers responded to a crash on the Garden State Parkway after a Honda SUV traveling south ran off the roadway to the left, struck multiple trees and became engulfed in flames, Christopher Postorino, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said.

The driver, Elchonon Fasten, was pronounced dead at the scene, the Yeshiva World News reported.

The crash remains under investigation, Postorino said.
