Bonita’s co-head football coach, Bo Beatty, has resigned so he can return to Azusa Pacific University, where he was an assistant coach for nearly three decades before the Cougars ended their football program in 2020.
Azusa Pacific is restarting the football program with the 2026 season.
After APU shut down, Beatty became the co-head coach at Bonita with Steve Bogan in 2021. They had a successful run over the past five seasons, winning the Palomares League title in 2024 and reaching the CIF-SS Division 3 quarterfinals that season.
Bonita was 42-15 over the past five years with Beatty and Bogan in charge, and they reached the quarterfinals twice.
Beatty said it was a tough decision to leave Bonita, but ultimately APU is home to him. Beatty said at APU he will be an assistant head coach
