Los Angeles County had its first reported influenza-associated death of the flu season, the LA County Department of Public healthy reported Wednesday.
The deceased is an "older person" with underlying health conditions. LA public health officials believe this person had not received a flu vaccination for this flu season, which typically runs between October and May every year.

While the flu infection rate remains low in the month of November, health officials believe more people would get sick, with more traveling and indoor gatherings being expected during the holiday season.
The flu activity typically peaks in December and January.
