GALLIPOLIS, Ohio. (WSAZ) - Families in need in Gallia County, Ohio, have a little extra to be thankful for this holiday season.
Today, Holzer Health System held its first ever “Fill The Truck” community food drive event on the main campus in Gallipolis.
People stopped by and dropped off canned foods and other traditional Thanksgiving food items.
Holzer employees and staff helped fill the truck throughout the day.
In recent months, food pantries have faced significant shortages, making it challenging to meet the needs of families experiencing hunger and food insecurities.
Staff at Holzer say this is just another way of giving back.
All items received today will go straight to “God’s Hands At Work,” one of the food pantries in Gallia County, just in time for Thanksgiving.
