KENT — The Kent State Golden Flashes will look to keep their bowl game hopes alive tonight when they host Central Michigan at Dix Stadium. Kickoff on ESPNU is at 7 p.m.
The Flashes (4-6, 3-3) beat rival Akron 42-35 in overtime last week to stay on track for the postseason. They need to win tonight and at Northern Illinois in their final regular-season game on Nov. 28 to become bowl eligible. Doing so would complete a remarkable turnaround from last year's 0-12 season and going 1-23 the previous two years.
Central Michigan is still in contention for a berth in the Mid-American Conference championship game. The Chippewas (6-4, 4-2) trail second-place Ohio by one-half game and first-place Western Michigan by 1½ games.
