APPLETON, Wis. (WBAY) - Two adults charged with child neglect of a 14-year-old girl in Outagamie County have their preliminary hearings pushed back to later dates.

The girl’s father, Walter Goodman III, and Kayla Stemler, the partner of the teen’s stepsister, were both in court on Wednesday.

Goodman will return to court in January, Stemler will be back in December. The teen’s stepmother and stepsister are set to appear in court on Thursday.

Officials say the 14-year-old weighed just 35 pounds when she was taken from her father’s home back in August. He called 9-1-1 saying his daughter was seriously ill and saying she did not eat because of her issues with autism.

According to the criminal complaint, she was able to gain weight and eat normally while she was in the hospital.
