SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. — A man is in custody after a shooting between acquaintances left one person injured Wednesday afternoon, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies arrested 33-year-old Thomas Mason Donlon of Pepperidge Drive on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. He is charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

The sheriff’s office says deputies were dispatched to Laverne Avenue around 2:39 p.m. after receiving a report of a shooting. When they arrived, they found a victim with a gunshot wound. Deputies provided medical aid and requested EMS, who transported the victim to Prisma Health Tuomey. Their condition was unknown at the time of the release.
