Get ready for a very normal Thanksgiving in Portland, at least when it comes to weather (no guarantees about the quality of the pie or the cost of the turkey).

In Portland, on average, Thanksgiving Day has a high temperature of about 50 degrees and a low of about 39 degrees, with around a quarter of an inch of rain, according to Jacob Hall, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Portland.

But that’s the usual. So what is happening this year?

While Thanksgiving is still over a week away, and it’s impossible to know the specifics yet, Hall said, “It does look like we are probably going to be expecting some precipitation.”

“I would say it looks like around a 50 to 70% chance to see some rain,” he added, on that Thursday and into Friday.
