Portland officials have granted multiple extensions to the landlord of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility as he seeks to challenge the city’s finding that the facility violated its land use permit.
Attorneys for developer Stuart Lindquist, who owns the South Macadam building, asked for an administrative review of the alleged permit breach last month, effectively pausing any potential enforcement action that the city could issue against the property.
The ICE facility has been a flashpoint between protesters and federal law enforcement over President Donald Trump’s immigration policies since late spring.
The building owner initially had until Oct. 17 to turn over information it wanted the city to assess as Portland’s permitting office performed a review of the case,
