BILLINGS — For the first time, both players wearing legacy numbers at Montana and Montana State are from the same town in the same year.

Montana State announced the selection of Paul Brott , a Billings West product, back in the spring while Montana’s selection of Clay Oven , a Billings Central product, came this past summer.

Both are the second selections from Billings in the history of each school’s legacy jersey, but never before have both the Cats and Griz picked players from the same community at the same time.

“I think it's really, really neat, and it's pretty special to have those legacy numbers,” Billings West coach Rob Stanton said. “We talk about it within our program, and we'll continue to talk about it, because it's special.”
