NATCHITOCHES, La. (KALB) - Two people were arrested during a recent Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Impact Unit operation that resulted in the seizure of illegal narcotics and a firearm, according to NPSO.

On Nov. 14, NPSO said Cody Kay, 43, of Goldonna, was pulled over on La. Hwy 6 West near Hagewood for improper lane usage.

NPSO said Kay confirmed that he had a shotgun in the vehicle. A driver’s license and criminal history check revealed Kay had prior criminal history and was subject to an active protective order prohibiting him from possessing any firearms until August 2026.

An odor of suspected marijuana was also detected, and NPSO said admitted to smoking marijuana the previous day. He was detained without incident.
