LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Mayor Craig Greenberg announced an ambitious legislative agenda for the 2026 session of the General Assembly.
The agenda includes an emphasis on money for economic development and a push for new gun laws.
“Any step forward that we can make to take more illegal guns off the streets will save lives in Louisville and around Kentucky,” Greenberg said Tuesday. “And I’m going to continue supporting it and advocating for changes.”
Two years ago, Greenberg and the city got a big win from state lawmakers with a $100 million investment in downtown development.
When asked how much the city is seeking this year, Greenberg said, “as much as possible.”
Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle expressed optimism that the $100 million mark is not out of the question.
