MOORHEAD — The felony trial of a former Clay County corrections officer accused of criminal sexual conduct with an inmate at the jail got underway in Moorhead this week, with testimony from the lead investigator, jail administrator, other jailers and the inmate at the center of the case.

Chloe Nord, 23, of Fargo, was arrested in March after an investigation that started shortly after Nord resigned from the jail to take a job with the Grand Forks Police Department in late January.

The inmate with whom Nord acknowledged to investigators that she had the inappropriate relationship testified Wednesday, Nov. 19, about the origins of the conversations that led to increasingly personal and romantic messages, and eventually to Nord allegedly touching his genitals through a food slot on his cel
