SHEPHERDSVILLE, Ky. —

By next summer, Shepherdsville will have a new state-of-the-art aquatic center.

The center cost $30 million to build and is approximately halfway through construction, according to Shepherdsville Mayor, Jose Cubero.

The center will feature both indoor and outdoor amenities. Outdoor facilities include a pool, splash pad, and two large slides, complemented by shaded seating and dining options.

Inside, the center will boast six pickleball courts, a common meeting space, a police station, and a competition-size swimming pool with seating for 300 people.

Cubero said they plan to host large scale swimming events there.
