A proposal has been submitted to the Chicago City Council to provide a Cook County Class 6(b) property tax incentive for the rehabilitation of an industrial building on the Near West Side. The measure, introduced by Mayor Brandon Johnson, aims to support the expansion of Coffee Unlimited, a coffee and tea distributor.
The plan involves 1532 West Fulton Reverse LLC investing $4.8 million to purchase and renovate the one-story property at 1532 W. Fulton St. Once completed, Coffee Unlimited would lease the space, retaining 27 permanent employees and adding eight new jobs as it moves from another location within the same neighborhood.
