Arrowhead area presents something new for Black Friday

Spencer’s TV and Appliance Arrowhead Store Manager Patrick Gleason said he still finds the notion of the locally-based retailer as a Black Friday destination a bit odd.

The retailer sells TVs and mattresses as well but both are niches supporting the bread and butter of the appliances. Gleason said 90-91% of his Bell Road store’s sales dollars come from appliances.

“I’ve never thought of an appliance store being a Black Friday store because people are buying Christmas presents. But we have just blown up,” Gleason said. “It’s no longer Black Friday. It’s Black November, with Black Friday pricing all November. It happened with Home Depot and Lowe’s and those guys. All of a sudden you have to follow suit. I don’t think of Black Friday a
